Brother Peter, Our Youth Leader (The Concluding Part)
TOLA’S PART
It wasn't
the truth afterall because I saw no traces. I monitored for a week and none was
revealed. I decided to embrace my happiness especially for the one growing inside of my
belly. My joy!
The devil
always wants to attack a happy home, but I won’t give him room for mine. I went
about revelling in the joy and happiness that we expect.

JANET’S PART
It has
been long I visited my aunt since she got married. I have been so busy with
school and haven’t had that much time to pay the couple a visit, so I decided
to pay them a surprise visit.
I put a
call through and she broke the good news of recently getting a new job. Good!
It will give me time to settle in her house before she comes back from work or
even hang around her area if I wouldn't be let in by the gate man.
They had
no gate man which was good for me, no questions on whom I was looking for. I
entered the gate and saw a young boy of about 13 years who directed me to my aunt's apartment. I got to the apartment, and I heard the voice of a lady and man.
“Stop it
now”
“I am not
stopping at all. I feel like eating you right here” a male voice said.
“Let’s go
to the usual spot.”
“No usual
spot abeg” he said.
Lol. So,
she didn't resume her new job today, I thought to myself. My aunt and her
husband on a Tuesday afternoon; must be romantic. I went over to the window to
peep and I saw a man smooching a lady but It wasn't my aunt.
I angrily
opened the door.
“What?”
“Who is
she?” the lady asked.
“You
didn’t tell us you were coming.” He said.
“You dare
cheat on my aunt. How dare you?” I said. I moved towards the lady but felt a
strong hand on my arm. I was pushed, and I hit my head on the flower vase and
that was the last I could recall.

LILIAN’S PART
The
unrepentant intruder didn’t back out because he was still bent on destroying
what the Lord has built.
The
intruder kept sending several messages with an unknown number and I became so
upset because it had started to get on my nerves.
I didn’t allow
this get to me as I carried on with trusting my husband and loving him wholeheartedly
with full submission as Christ instructed us.
“Sister Vivian,
I am sorry but you won’t be ministering with us.”
“why?” Sister
Vivian asked.
“You came
in late today and besides we haven’t been seeing you during our previous
rehearsals”
And?” she
asked.
“So you
can’t rehearse with us. I hope you understand Sister Vivian?” I asked.
“I do not
understand anything. I simply do not understand. I mean what is with this new
policy for goodness sake? Who made you the decider of whom to minister? Sister Lilian
please don’t start with me.”
“I am not
starting anything with you Sister Vivian.”
“Then
allow me minister for Goodness sake. I came in late, yes you are right with
that. But do I know the song? Yes, I do Miss.”
“But we
have to put down principles that must be obeyed by all.” I said.
“and you
want to start that principles with me? You are obviously joking Sister Lilian.
Why I am even calling you sister sef? When did you join this department for you
to start deciding who and who not to minister? Please I have no more words for
you. I will come tomorrow, pursue me from the stage when I stand to sing with
others.” She hissed and walked out on me.
I was shocked.
Vivian talked rudely to me? This was a lady that speak to me with respect and
even once said she looked up to me. I calmly walked back to where the rest of
the choir executives sat. I wasn’t about to allow someone get to me at all.
…………………………………..................................................................
I
discussed what happened to Peter and he was somehow shocked too.
“You mean
Vivian told you all that? What an effrontery!”
“I didn’t
even know what to say to her.” I said.
“Joy to
the wise. I like the way you kept your cool. We have to deal with people with
wisdom and with great patience otherwise there is bound to be chaos and fights.
Please allow her minister with you and let the devil be please.” He said.
“No she
cannot. It will be unfair on others especially some that I have given the same
kind of punishment to.” I stated.
“Sweetheart,
Please allow her. I understand you perfectly well but it will not be good that
when she leaves the church, people say you were the one who chased her. Biko,
let her be. Is it not to sing and that is all?”
I thought
for a while.
“I will
think about it.” I said.
“Don’t think
about anything because I know that you will finally carry out what’s in your mind.
Just promise me”.
“hmmmm.
If I do that, it will only empower her to break more rules.”
“I will personally
call her and warn her seriously about her habit and if such happens again, then
do whatever you please.”
“Alright
no problem. I promise.” I said.
I stood
up and went in to get dinner ready.

LILIAN PART
“Have you
seen her?” My mother asked.
“No I haven’t
at all. What happened?” I said.
“We last
saw her five days ago and thought that perhaps she was with you.”
“At all.
Have you reported to the police station?” I asked.
“No” my
mother said over the phone.
“Then we
should, if her friends don’t know of her whereabouts too. I will report to the
police station myself. But I don’t have her pictures.”'
“I will
send Samuel to report to the police station here.” My mother said.
“That
will be better. I will also report to the station here regardless.”
My mother
ended the phone call. But where could she be? I was deep in thought and didn’t even
notice the door open. Oh! It was Mrs. Tope.
“Are you
okay Madam?” she asked.
“I just
received a call that my sister has been missing for the past five days” I informed
her.
“Have you
reported to the police station?” she asked worried.
“We were
just about to do so.” I said.
“Please do.”
“Good to
see you Mrs Tope. How is your husband and kids?” I asked.
“They are
fine, thank you.” She said.
“I hope
to meet them one day. Maybe we should organise a family outing.” I said.
“That
will be fine.”
“Let me
call Peter for you.”
I went in
to call Peter and left them in the parlor. I came out after some minutes to
inform Peter that I had to branch the police station to make a report about my
missing sister and also to visit a friend.
……………………………………………………………………………….........................
After
making the report at a police station and calling my mom to ensure that they had
also made a report too, I set out to my friend’s place. I received a call from
the same intruder as I was about to take a bike.
“Go back
home” a lady voice said.
“To do
what?” I asked.
“Go back
home now and thank me later for it.” She said and ended the call.
I looked
around as if the intruder was lurked around there. I thought about heading home
or to my friend’s place. After about ten minutes, I decided to head home. The
urge to go home was stronger. So, I went home.
I opened the
door to the house and that was it! The last
word heard was “Go harder!” as I remained unconscious.
............................................................................................................................
COURT ROOM
“Court!!!!”
the court clerk banged on the table and the court remained silent.
“Who is
she?” the judge asked Lawyer Abiokun Adeigba.
“His wife’s
sister.”
“How is
she relevant to this proceeding?” the judge asked.
“Permit
me my lord to allow this lady narrate her story.” Lawyer Abiokun pleaded.
“It has
to be fast.”
“she will
be fast.” Lawyer Abiokun said.
“Let her
go ahead then.” the judge said.
The fair
lady continued “I am not dead. I was helped by a good Samaritan after he (pointed
at the man) hit my head on the floor. He thought I was dead, and he and his woman
lady dropped my body at a place till a good Samaritan saw me and helped me.”
“Can we
know the good Samaritan?” Lawyer Abiokun asked.
“She is
the one over there.” The lady pointed at Tola.
LILIAN’S PART
“Tola?” I
gently called her. So Tola knew the whereabout of my precious sister all these
while and didn’t reveal anything to me. I was more than shocked.
I kept
looking at Tola and my sister and it felt as if I was dreaming.
“Tola
helped me and kept me at her place. She feared for my safety as a result of what
I knew and had to ensure that no one knows about my whereabouts.” Janet continued.
“What do
you know?” Lawyer Abiokun asked.
“I caught
my sister’s husband having sex with another lady in their matrimonial home. I
was furious when I caught them and as I tried to deal with the lady, my sister’s
husband pushed me and I hit my head on the floor.” She finally said.
“Interesting!”
Lawyer Abiokun exclaimed.
“My Lord,
permit me to invite Tola to speak”
“Go ahead
please” the judge said.
Tola
walked to the cubicle.
“Miss Tola,
please tell us all that you know about this.”
“I am the
unrepentant intruder. I knew everything from the beginning and have looked for
ways to reveal to my friend. When Janet’s incidence happened, I knew that I had
to do my part as a friend which was protecting my friend’s sister at all cost.
I informed my Friend Lilian, about all that was going on and sent the text
message for her to head home to see what was happening behind her back as one
cannot reveal an extra marital affair without an evidence.”
“hmmm” Lawyer
Abiokun sighed.
“He is a
chronic cheat. Mrs. Tope (she mockingly said) is not a married
lady but his lover who pretended to be married. Tope is not even her real name.
He dated Vivian in church amongst other ladies who fell for his handsomeness.”
Tola said.
“How
could you look at your pregnant wife and do all these? You brought her to court
for defamation of character and yet you are a devil in sheep’s clothing. So what
do you want us to do?” Lawyer Abiokun asked.
The man
was sober.
“How can
you treat a woman who loved you deeply like this? What is in your trouser that
cannot stay in one place? Why bring humiliation to a woman you claimed to love?
Your heart and hands are dirty man, you better ask for forgiveness and hope to
be forgiven.” Lawyer Abiokun said.
“So are
you guilty of all these brother Peter?” the judge asked mockingly.
(THE END)
Let us be
very careful when making marital decisions. Looks doesn’t equate a good husband/wife.
Let’s be properly guarded, seeking for the will of God concerning all decisions
and looking properly before we leap. An issue committed in God’s hands can never
go wrong.
